Skjold Church

The Skjold Church, dating from 1998, is a brick 'working church' with an octagonal hall. The church was designed by architect Nils A. Vikanes, was built after the old city church, a wooden long church from 1887, was burnt down on 13 September 1992.

The church, which was demolished shortly after the new building was ready, was built around 1640. The church that stood here before was probably a stave church.
