The old church of Bømlo was completed in 1621 but was rebuilt, among other things, in 1885 with larger windows, new doors and a new gallery. The modern church pews also date from 1885, but traces of the older pews can be found in the long walls.
The church of Sveio is a long church dating from 1858. The church is a wooden nave basilica with a west tower and a choir at the right end. Two churches stood earlier, about 250 metres west of the present church. An old Stave church mentioned in 1686 is said to have been built in the Middle Ages. This church was replaced in 1688 by a wooden church.
Lykling Church is a wooden church dating from 1912, originally designed by Victor Nordan, but enlarged and rebuilt in 1973 to designs by Ole Halvorsen.
