Church of the Saviour

The Church of the Saviour is a stone church built in 1785. The church is a hall church with ships and a choir in one. The builder was the Scotsman George Johnstone. In 1901, the church burned down and only the walls remained. The church was rebuilt in 1905 with the old walls, but with a completely new interior.

Spind Church

Spind Church is a wooden church dating from 1776. The architect of the church is Lars Albertson Øvrenes. The first historical traces of the church date back to 1328, but the old stave church was probably built in the 1200s. Little is known about the old church, but it is known that in 1776 a new church was built on a higher ground, about 20 metres west of the old one.

Vanse kirke

The church of Vanse, which is a medieval stone church dating from 1037. Only the western part of the nave dates from the Middle Ages. In 1848-49 the chancel and east wall were demolished and replaced by a large cruciform extension, and the old church furniture was removed and sold at auction. In 1872, the church burned down due to lightning. It was then rebuilt with new deep galleries in the cross arms, a new roof and tower, and with new wooden gables.
