Guldrupe Church

Guldrupe Church is one of the 92 medieval churches on the island of Gotland.

About this building

The nave of the present church was built in the late 12th century, being its oldest part. At the beginning of the 13th century a Romanesque tower was erected. The choir and sacristy were the latest addition, built towards the end of the 13th century.

The church houses a 12th-century baptismal font, decorated by Byzantios, a medieval sculptor from Gotland. Some remains of medieval wall paintings are still visible.

Atlingbo Church
