Remonstrantse Kerk

The Remonstrant church from 1883 was given a completely new destination in 2006. The church and outbuildings have since been widely used for meetings, trainings, conferences, workshops, concerts and lectures.

About this building

Church services are also still being held. The renovation was done based on architecture of Japanese architect Moriko Kira. The result is nothing short of spectacular. Behind the classical façade restored in its ancient glory, seven light, multifunctional spaces were created.

Remonstrant Church in Groningen from 1883. Hall church with front tower in eclectic style. Since 1972 together with Association of Liberal Reformed. In 2005 extension and partly used as office. In January 2005 the restoration of the Remonstrant church on the (1883, H.Raamaker) started, under the direction of the Japanese architect Moriko Kira. The church remains a Remonstrant church, but the ancillary rooms are given a multifunctional purpose. In addition, it is possible to organize exhibitions and conferences there. And part of the church building is now the office of the Foundation Old Groningen Churches (SOGK). (53-05/56-06)

Evangelisch Lutherse Kerk

Evangelical Lutheran church building from 1696. In eclectic style built frontage with risalit from 1874, with risalit in which a relief in the shape of a swan, for the late 17th century (1696) hall church with gallery on three sides. The church has a richly carved pulpit 1696 with rear bulkhead and sounding board. Organ by Van Oeckelen, made in 1896.
