The church in Tovdal is a long church that was built in 1820, but it was not consecrated until 1827. The church has changed colour several times: in 1837 it was painted red, in 1854 white, in 1932 red and in 1964 again white. In 1930-32 there was a major renovation according to the plans of Wilhelm Swensen.

Gjøvdal Church is a long church built in 1803 by architect Gjermund Gunnarson Veum. There was originally a stave church on the site, which was built in the 12th century. It was demolished in the spring of 1803 to make way for the new church.
Åmli Church is a long church from 1909, replacing an identical church that burned down in 1907. It was designed by Ludvig Karlsen in 1885, and the builder in 1908–09 was Tellef Mosbergplassen.
Mykland Church is an octagonal church dating from 1832. It was built without plans, but using the church in Hornnes or Årdal (Bygland) as a model. The church was extended in 1882 with a new porch, a raised floor in the choir, a new pulpit, baptismal font and an altarpiece (painted by Christen Brun).
