Behram Pasha Mosque, Diyarbakır

The Behram Pasha Mosque is a 15th-century Ottoman mosque named after the Ottoman governor-general Behram Pasha, who ordered its construction.

About this building

The construction of the mosque began in 1564 and was completed in 1572. The building is attributed to imperial architect Mimar Sinan, although it is possible that another architect supervised the works. The Behram Pasha combines the Ottoman style of the period when it was built with local features of Diyarbakır's architecture.
