Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Cornelius, designed by P. Snel, from 1901-1902, main part of the church complex 'Sint Cornelius'. The exterior of the church building, built in neo-Romanesque style, is still original, apart from the recent late 20th century portal extension against the left side wall and the attached central heating room at the rear left. In the 1970s, the chancel in the church was extended to the west at the expense of the communion and front benches. The benches in the transept arms were also turned towards the middle. The interior is still largely in its original state and parts of the church inventory come from the predecessor of the church that was demolished in 1855-'56 (including the pulpit, the chandelier, the table of the main altar, and the doors). The five stained glass choir windows were made in 1903 by the Van Rooyen brothers in Roermond.

Roman Catholic parish church in Borgharen, situated on the Maas, north of Maastricht. Built to replace a small church from the 16th (?) century. Borgharen has a history as a small pilgrimage site in honour of Saint Cornelius, a martyr from the third century and protector against diseases and overexertion.

Neo-Gothic church, situated on a churchyard, which is surrounded by a simple wrought iron FENCE. The church has a large west tower, consisting of four sections partly decorated with blind pointed arch niches, crowned with a high constricted spire. A three-aisled basilica nave with five bays connects to this tower, to which a single-aisled choir connects with a choir bay and 5/8 closure. The side aisles end straight on both the west and east sides and have a lean-to roof with a fairly gentle roof slope. The northern side aisle has a five-sided, buttressless baptismal chapel with a hipped roof against the western closing gable. The central nave has a saddle roof, which is continued over the single-aisled choir section as a hipped roof with shields on the 5/8 closure. On the ridge of the roof, at the transition between nave and choir, there is a wooden eight-sided roof turret (angelus tower) with trefoil arch openings, crowned by closed wooden wimbergen, from which a slender eight-sided spire rises. On the north side of the choir there is a large rectangular annex (sacristy) with a hipped roof and an eight-sided staircase tower with an eight-sided spire, partly built into the north facade. The building extends further eastwards (since the extension) than the choir closure. A low rectangular annex is connected to the south facade of the sacristy behind the choir. A small, later added annex with angled gables is also connected to the closing gable of the southern aisle and the south facade of the choir.

Heilige Cornelius (Church of St Cornelius) is a Roman Catholic church built in 1862 in a Craftsmanship-Traditional Water Board style designed by P. Soffers. It is listed as a National Monument of the Netherlands.

Neo-Romanesque church with 2 towers, characteristic of the work of (mainly) Jan Stuyt (1868 - 1934). The church replaced a church from 1839.

Classical neo-Gothic church from the early period of architect AC Bleijs, with many details (e.g. statues on and next to the front facade), and a high tower that defines the village image.

Important interbellum church. Built to replace a church from 1866. Three-aisled basilica church in traditionalist forms. Squat, low front tower, covered by a constricted spire. Stylistically influenced by the native Romanesque and early Gothic architecture. Part of the inventory (including choir windows) comes from the previous church.

On 10 May 1940, 80 people lost their homes as a result of the Dutch army setting fire to all the buildings above the dike, including the church. This was to prevent the advancing Germans from firing at the Dutch lines at Ravenstein from those buildings. In this tragedy, a third of the village went up in flames. The church was not rebuilt until 1952.
