Bäl Church is one of the 92 medieval churches on the island of Gotland.
Most of the present church building was built in the 14th century, with the exception of the chancel and its portal, which have Romanesque features in contrast to the predominant early Gothic style of the church.
The interior of the church is decorated with wall paintings that were discovered in the 21st century. The walls of the nave are decorated with Passion friezes.
