Panevezys St. Peter and Paul Church

1507 The first Panevezys church was built on the right bank of the NeveSis, and a branch of the Panevezys Old Town, belonging to the parish of Ramygala, was established. The church was small, wooden, covered with boards, with a tower and 3 bells, had 3 altars. Near the church there is a rectory and outbuildings, a tavern, a sauna and a brewery. 1528 It was decided to establish a parish school in 1775. (Did not work in 1789)

The new mosque was most likely built in the early 1970s. It is an example of mosque architecture in Cyprus in the early 1970s. The building is based on a 1958 design by the Greek Cypriot architectural firm Th. Photiadis, which was later approved by the Evkaf with some modifications. Similar mosque buildings can be found in Paramali (also Limassol district) and in Menogeia (Larnaka district).

The main church of the village is dedicated to Archangel Michael and the church was built during the late 19th century. It is located at the southern edge of the old village centre. The bell tower was added in 1908 and located on the northeast of the corner. There is no bell in the tower. According to the locals, the church was built on top of an old Monastery which was named Monastery of Archangel Michael. The church was converted into a mosque in 1976. A new mosque was constructed next to the church in 2019.

The Church of Santa Engrácia has a tumultuous history that began with its construction, which lasted 284 years, from 1682 to 1966. In fact, the construction suffered many setbacks due to the change of use of the building, which was used as an armaments shop for the Army Arsenal and as a shoe factory at the end of the 19th century. On completion in the 1960s, the church became the National Pantheon of Portugal, housing the bodies of important Portuguese figures.

The construction of the Basilica of Saint Genevieve (a decision taken following Louis XV's vow) began in 1756 and was completed in 1790: the foundations were laid between 1756 and 1764 and the first stone was laid in 1764. Jacques-Germain Soufflot was the architect, assisted by Jean-Baptiste Rondelet, site manager, and Maximilien Brébion. After the Revolution, the building was transformed into a temple dedicated to great men and took the name of Pantheon.
