The Sandar Church is a large cruciform church built in 1790-91 from lathed wood with the exterior panelled and painted. The windows are located on two floors, the upper windows being in the shape of an arc. The tower is located on the gable of the northeast crossbeam and obtained its neo-gothic appearance during a reconstruction in 1868. The interior is characterised by galleries and carpentry of early classicism.

On Sunday, September 3, 1972, Sandbucksgarden was consecrated by the then bishop Ake Kastlund. The ceremony began with a mass in the church in the north and afterwards buses went from the church square to Sandbucksgarden. Speeches were given by the chairman of the church council Eric Kjellstrom and the pastor Carl Strandberg. The chairman of the church council at this time was Sixten Wahlin. The bishop declared the court inaugurated and the church choir under the direction of Rune Jansson sang before it was time for church coffee.

The church of Sande is a long church dating from 1864. It is the third church built on Sande. The spire and sacristy were built later, so the church did not appear in its final form until 1889. After that date, minor modifications were made to the church, including the nave was painted orange and the pews were painted green in 1928.

The church in Sande was built in 1880. The oldest known church on this site, mentioned in 1329, was a stave church. The new church was damaged by a storm in 1907 when the spire was destroyed.

The church of Sande is a medieval stone church with a rectangular nave and a narrower, lower but elongated choir. The church is first mentioned in 1387. In 1783 the church burnt down and apparently, only the walls remained. During the next eight years, the church was rebuilt.
