Skåtøy church, from 1862, is made of timber and is among the country's largest wooden churches. The architects of the church are Heinrich Ernst Schirmer and Wilhelm von Hanno, the altarpiece was painted by Julie Gjessing.

Skaun Church is a medieval stone church with a rectangular nave and lower choir and narrower at the right end. The south and west portals of the nave are richly designed and bear stone carving marks similar to those found on the octagon of the Nidaros Cathedral. The church was restored in 1930 according to Erling Gjone's plans. In the nave, frescoes were discovered on the wall of the choir.

Skei Church was built in 1664 and is the oldest wooden church in the municipality of Steinkjer. The building was restored in 1862 and 1911 and renovated in 1964. The altarpiece is from 1664 and the pulpit from 1655. In 1964, the church was painted inside and outside. An authentic reconstruction of the altarpiece and pulpit was also carried out in 1964.

Ski Church is a medieval stone church with a rectangular nave and a lower, narrower rectangular chancel. The bell tower in front of the west entrance, built in 1860, replaced an old wooden porch. The base of the tower is made of stone, while the upper part of the tower is made of wood. The sacristy to the east was built in 1934 according to the plans of architect Ole Stein. As part of the extensive reconstruction of the church by Nicolay Nicolaysen in 1860, the portals and windows of the church were demolished and modified or rebuilt. The interior was also considerably modified in 1860, with new galleries and pews. The interior was then restored in 1935 under the direction of the architect Ole Stein.

The Skien Church of 1894 is a neo-gothic church that replaced a church from 1783 that was lost in a town fire. Skien Church is one of the most monumental churches in the country. It was built according to the plans of the architect Hagbarth Schytte-Berg. It has two large west towers and three portals in the main facade. The ground floor is Latin cross-shaped and the church is clad with dark brown bricks glazed with red as a marking of arches and facade bands.

The church of Skiptvet is a medieval stone church with a rectangular nave and a shorter, lower choir on the right end, to the east. Originally, the church had a bell tower to the west, but the upper part of the tower was demolished. The opening between the ship and the tower was widened after a fire in 1762 so that the base of the tower became an extension of the ship. The choir arch was also originally reduced, but in the 18th century, it was widened to the full width of the choir.

After 1818. the fire church was rebuilt. 1841 There were 2 priests living in Skirsnemune, 8 parishes and 3 variegated lands belonged to the parish.

The church of St. Laurentii was built in limestone, probably in the middle of the 12th century or in the second half. The arches were carved in the 15th century. The stepped gable tower was also built in the Middle Ages. In the mid-19th century, the church was enlarged by adding the arms of the cross. The vaults were decorated with frescoes around 1500. In the 1930s and 1940s, Gunnar Torhamn painted stained glass windows.
