The church "Saint Mina" was built between 1995 and 1997 according to the plans of the architect Nicolae Goga and is an imitation of the traditional style of Maramures. The furniture of the church was entirely carved in wood. The painting that covers it was done by the Bucharest painter, George Sorin Nicolae.

A chapel dedicated to Willibrord was founded in 1897, but it became too small for the growing amount of churchgoers when De Haan developed into an important seaside resort. The construction of a new, fully-fledged church was completed in 1902. This church soon became too small as well. Therefore, a new transept and choir were built in 1934.

The church of St. Moritz was built in the 15th century on the remains of a Romanesque church first built in the 11th century. In the second half of the 19th century, the church was completely restored and an attempt was made to enlarge the two neo-Gothic towers on the west façade.

St. Naum Monastery is a monastery built from the 10th century in Byzantine architecture. It was founded by St. Naum of Preslav (830-910), a disciple of Saints Cyril and Methodius. In the 16th century, during the Ottoman occupation, new buildings were constructed on the foundations of the original building. However, a part of them was destroyed in a fire in 1875.

St. Nicholas Cathedral is an Orthodox church first mentioned in the 16th century. It changed its location at the beginning of the 19th century and was rebuilt in 1835. In 1892-94, the wooden church of the time was replaced by a new stone building. In Soviet times the church was closed and in 1964 it was converted into a swimming pool. In 2003, the entire church building was handed over to the faithful.

St. Nicholas Cathedral is an Orthodox cathedral built between 1902 and 1903, designed by Vyborg master-builder Aleksander Isakson. The façade is plastered and painted to look like red brick, although there is real brick under the plaster. In appearance, it looks like garrison churches made of red brick at the same time.

St. Nicholas Church was built between 1390 and 1480 on the site of a previous building mentioned in 1332. The west tower was not built until 1516-82, and was rebuilt in 1877. The interior of the church is mainly Renaissance and Baroque.

In the autumn of 1989, the Nikolaikirche was the central starting point of the peaceful revolution in the GDR with the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989 and the reunification of Germany on 3 October 1990.
