Built in 1865, the St. Alfons monastery in Aachen, Germany, transformed into an office building in 2008, while preserving its historical features. The conversion process involved reversible modifications and a glass extension.

One of the most important churches in Cyprus. It dates back to the 12th century and was famous for its frescoes. Unfortunately, these were badly damaged in the aftermath of the events of 1974. Today, the externally well-preserved church is a museum.

The monastery church of the former Franciscan monastery of Cottbus is the oldest preserved sacred building in the city. It was built in its present form in the 15th century in the Gothic style. The last remnant of the monastery buildings was not demolished until 1852. The monastery church is also called the "Wendish church", as it was the parish church for the Wendish (Sorbian) population.

The Monastery of Agioi Theodoroi, better known as the Monastery of Grivitsani, was built between the end of the 12th and the beginning of the 13th century. The monastery is abandoned and partially ruined, except for the church, which has been preserved in good condition. The monastery is located in a valley crossed by many hiking trails.

The complex was built in the 12th century. The monks received a long series of donations in their favour, especially from Castilian monarchs, Alfonso VIII, Fernando III, Alfonso X... without forgetting other contributions from private individuals.

The Monasterio de Santa María de Valbuena is a 15th-century monastic complex which currently houses the Fundación Las Edades del Hombre.

The monastery of Agia Eleousa, originally named Agios Nikalaos Methodatos Monastery, was probably begun in the 16th century and completed in the 18th century. It is one of the seven monasteries on Ioannina Island.

The former monastery of Agia Sophia near the village of Armeni was founded in the 15th century. The monastery is linked to Saint John Gerontoyannis, who was the founder of the Kapsas monastery.
