The Monasteries of San Millán de la Cogolla are a complex of two monasteries founded in the 6th (San Millán de Suso) and 11th centuries (San Millán de Yuso). The monasteries have changed owners many times (Visigoths, Spaniards, Muslims) and now bear their marks such as the Mozarabic arches inside the Suso building. Both buildings have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1997.

The monastery of San Juan de la Peña has its origin in an early medieval hermitage where the body of the anchorite Juan de Atarés was found. Of the old monastery, the ground floor contains the Council chamber and the primitive pre-Romanesque church, which preserves remains of mural decoration with scenes from the lives of Saints Cosmas and Damian. A little higher up is the new monastery, a grandiose building, now restored and refurbished. Part of it is used as a hotel.

The convent of San Juan de los Reyes is a monastery belonging to the Franciscan order. It was built under the patronage of Queen Isabella I of Castile, from 1477 to 1526, with the aim of transforming it into a royal mausoleum. This is one of the most valuable examples of Isabelline Gothic style.

The ancient monastery of San Millán has its origins in Suso, in the cave where the anchorite San Millán retired and died in 574.

The present-day monastery of Nuestra Señora de Gracia is the result of the work carried out on the former residence, which includes the old palace with the later building attached, built around a large cloister (15th c.) containing the monastic quarters, which still preserve a notable collection of furnishings.

Popular tradition suggests that the monastery already existed in Visigothic times and was destroyed during the Islamic invasion. There is evidence of its existence since the 13th century. During the 16th and 17th centuries the whole complex was rebuilt, becoming the monastery that is still preserved today, although with modifications. Part of the building has been adapted to serve as a guest house.

The Monasterioton Synagogue in Thessaloniki is a Sephardi synagogue built between 1925 and 1927. The synagogue was restored in 1978 and 2016. This Art Deco brick building still serves as a synagogue.

The monastery of Santa Chiara of the Clare nuns, with its church, was founded in 1490. During the 16th and 17th centuries, the monastic complex underwent further extensions and embellishments. In 1694, the church, as it is visible in its present form, was completed. In 1798, the religious complex was suppressed by Napoleon, but the enclosure was officially restored in 1817 after the Restoration of 1815. In 1845, the church was rebuilt in neoclassical style, although the interior retains its Renaissance architectural layout. The façade has a simple plan with two statues in niches. The church contains works by B. Rossi and Luigi Asioli, a Nativity by Giulio Francia and Giacomo Francia, and a Madonna di Soriano of 1639 by Giovanni Maria Botalla.

The monastery of Santa Maria in Valle Christi was a 13th-century monastic complex built for a community of Cistercian nuns who flourished there for almost three hundred years. Replaced by nuns of the Order of St. Clare in the early 16th century, the monastery again went into decline and after a few decades, in 1572, it was abolished.
