Hemse Church

Hemse Church is one of the 92 medieval churches on the island of Gotland. It is a 13th-century church with medieval mural paintings.

About this building

In the Gotland Museum in Visby, some remains of the stave church that preceded the present building are on display.

The most remarkable Romanesque elements in the church are the triumphal cross from the 12th century and the baptismal font from the 14th century.
