Igreja do Coração de Jesus is a 1960s church by architects Nuno Portas and Nuno Teotónio Pereira.
The building is made of concrete and an example of Brutalist religious arquitecture in Portugal's capital The plan of the architects was to embed the building in the surrounding block creating an interconnected space for the public.
Since 1783, Igreja de São Mamede has been the parish seat of São Mamede, a former quarter of the city of Lisbon that occupies the hillside of the Castle of São Jorge.
The Chapel of Our Lady of Monserrate an 18th century built beneath one of the arches of the Aqueduct of Sao Bento Street in Lisbon.
The Church of Saint Sebastian or Igreja de São Sebastião da Pedreira was built in the 17th century under the reign of John IV of Portugal. The church suffered the impact of the 1755 earthquake, but the structure survived without major integral damage.
