The "Chiesa dei Santi Severino e Sossio" is a 16th-century Benedictine church. It belonged to the convent of the same name, which today houses the State Archives of Naples.
The church was the most important Benedictine church in Naples. It still preserves many original artistic works from the 16th century. Since 1835, the former cloister and monastery buildings around the church have housed the State Archives of Naples.
The Church of Saint Marcellinus and Saint Festus is a Roman catholic church that used to be part of a monastic complex. The former monastery buildings are now reused for other purposes.
The former convent of Saint Severino and Sossio functioned as a Benedictine monastic complex until the beginning of the 20th century, when it lost its religious function and was transformed into archives. Since 1835 it has housed the State Archives of Naples.
The cloister of Saints Marcellinus and Festus belonged was part of a medieval monastic complex. The cloister serves nowadays as the headquarters Museum of Paleontology of Naples operated by the University of Naples Federico II and some other academic premises.
