Ancienne abbaye Saint-Vincent, Laon
According to tradition the abbey was founded under the name of Saint-Vincent in 589 by Queen Brunehaut. The abbey has suffered several destructions in its history, the last of which took place in the 19th century.
About this building
The former abbot's palace has a regular U-shape, regular elevation in medium limestone, except for the rear facade in brick and plastered stone. The surrounding wall is made of rubble and its towers are vaulted in a semi-dome.
