Eksta Church

Eksta Church is one of the 92 medieval churches on the island of Gotland.

About this building

The church is of medieval origin, although it underwent a major restoration in 1838. The 13th-century nave and the 14th-century chancel underwent considerable changes in this restoration. Only the 13th-century tower remains unaltered.

The Eksta Church has four portals in Romanesque and Gothic styles, which were moved from their original position in the 19th century. Only one stained glass window of the original medieval windows has survived to the present day.
