Lokrume Church
Lokrume Church is one of the 92 medieval churches on the island of Gotland. It is one of the largest churches on Gotland.
About this building
The church was built in the 12th century possibly replacing an earlier church. The church houses a rood cross and baptismal font from the 12th century and an altarpiece from the 18th century. During one of the last restorations, some 15th century wall paintings were found under the whitewash, although due to their deterioration they could not be restored.
