The Cathedral of Divine Providence is a Roman Catholic place of worship in Chisinau built in 1840.
About this building
The church was built in a late neoclassicism style, according to the designs of Iosif Ivanovich Charlemagne. In Soviet times the church was used as an assembly hall, recording studio, and a warehouse of the firm “Moldova Film”. In 1988 it was transformed into a theatre. Finally, in 1989, the church was returned to the Catholic community and is now an active place of worship.
