The parish church of Sant'Andrea dates back to the 8th century, but it was only built in its present form in the second half of the 12th century by the architect Buono. The façade is decorated with a two-coloured marble facing, typical of the Romanesque churches of Pistoia, but characterised by an incisive Pisan influence.

The parish church of Santo Stefano was first mentioned in 1155, making it one of the first Christian religious buildings to be erected in the Rapallo area. After being the seat of the Confraternity of the Disciplinanti from 1263, it was granted in 1541 to the noble Rapallese family Della Torre (until the middle of the 19th century). During the Second World War, the structure was damaged several times, so that in 1958 and again in 1963, restoration work was carried out on the interior and exterior. The neighbouring civic tower, dating from 1443, is also part of the complex.

Agios Anastasios Monastery Church is located centrally in the original settlement area of the double village. According to Kassinis, a church was already built here in Ottoman times, which was restored in 1775.

Velehrad is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Czech Republic. Its heart is the Baroque Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and Saints Cyril and Methodius. Its history began more than 800 years ago. Under the basilica, there is a lapidarium with historical remains of the original Romanesque monastery.

In the valley stood the Pavlín monastery, founded in 1377, where many pilgrimages took place after its establishment. However, even before its construction, numerous pilgrims brought here legends about the statue of the Virgin Mary and the miraculous spring.

The church of Pilistvere dates from the 13th century. The cross vaults of the church building, which rest on two pillars, were completed by the beginning of the 14th century. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the church was destroyed several times. It was extensively rebuilt in 1762 with a high stone tower. After the storm damage in 1905, the helmet of the church tower was destroyed and it was not restored until 1990. Pilistvere Church is one of the highest churches in Estonia, at 70 metres.
