The Basilica of Our Father Jesus of Medinaceli is located on the site of the former Barefoot Convent of the Trinitarians of Our Lady of the Incarnation. In 1922, the building was demolished because it was in an advanced state of disrepair, and in 1927 the construction of the current basilica, designed by the architect Jesús Carrasco-Muñoz Encina, began. The work was completed in 1930.

Situated on a hill overlooking the river Vesdre, the Basilica of Our Lady of Chèvremont was built between 1877 and 1899 due to the increase in pilgrims coming to venerate the image of the Virgin Mary in Chèvremont. The chapel near the Basilica, much more humble, became a popular Marian pilgrimage destination as early as the 7th century.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Geneva is the main Catholic church in Geneva, the former St Peter's Cathedral having become a Protestant temple. The Notre-Dame church was built according to Alexandre Grigny's design between 1852 and 1857 on the site of a former fortification bastion. This neo-gothic building was partly inspired by Notre-Dame de Bonsecours and Saint-Nicolas of Nantes.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Lourdes, nicknamed the Slovenian Lourdes, is one of the largest churches in Slovenia. It was built between 1908 and 1914 in the neo-Romanesque style. In 1911 the church was painted by Osvaldo Bierti, and the images of the rosary are the work of the academic painter Peter Markovič.

This basilica is also known as the "Star of the Sea". It is unknown when exactly the first church was built on this site and it is speculated that, given its location withing the former Roman Castrum, it was previously a temple to Jupiter. The present church was built in the 11th and 12th centuries in a gothic and romanesque style. The church also contains an important treasury room that was emptied during occupation by Napoleon's forces, but today contains several important religious artifacts from around the 14th century.

The Carmelite Church (Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel) is a Roman Catholic church located in Valletta. Begun in 1570 and rearranged over the centuries, the church was damaged during the Second World War and was rebuilt from 1958 to 1981. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The first phase of the construction of the basilica took place from 1394 until 1417. There was a second construction phase between 1452 and 1454. During this phase, the nave got closed with a façade and, with the exception of the tower, the church was completely finished. During the third phase of construction, from 1463 until 1483, the tower was finished and six bells were added. On its 600th anniversary, in 1999, the church received the honorary title of basilica. Today, the basilica is mostly known for the grave of Thomas a Kempis. He is a popular medieval mystic and his book ‘De Imitation Christi’ is known all over the world. His grave is frequently visited by tourist and pilgrims.

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Martyrs (Basílica de Nossa Senhora dos Mártires) was built by King Dom Afonso Henriques in 1147 after the successful siege of Lisbon.

The Basilica of the Mother of Mercy in Maribor is one of seven basilicas in Slovenia. The present church, with a monastery, was built between 1892 and 1900, and is located on the site of a former Capuchin church, built in the 17th century.

The Basilica of Saint Anne of Kodeń was built in 1629-1635 in a late Renaissance style in place of an old wooden church from 1599. From 1875 to 1917, it was transformed into an Orthodox church. After Poland's independence, she became a Roman Catholic church again.
