Strandlykkja Church is a small long church with a turret in the middle, built in 1915 according to the plans of the architect H. Børve. The architect was clearly inspired by the churches of Stave church, especially for the interior details with columns and arches. Skirmishes in 1940 left some bullet holes in the wall.

Strandvik Church is a long church from 1857. The architect of the church was Frederik Hannibal Stockfleth. The church was probably built just north of an older wooden church from 1628, which itself replaced a stave church from the Middle Ages.

The construction of Strängnäs Cathedral began in the 13th century when Strängnäs became a diocese. It was consecrated in 1291, but work continued in the following centuries. From its construction until the 19th century, the cathedral was the highest human construction in the world. The recognisable silhouette of the cathedral looms from the Strasbourg countryside and even from the other side of the Rhine, on the Baden plain.
