The Stiklestad Church is a long stone church from the second half of the 12th century, and according to tradition it was built on the place where Olav the Saint fell during the Battle of Stiklestad in 1030. The nave was extended to the west in the late Middle Ages and is exceptionally large. In 1927-30, the church underwent extensive restoration and frescoes from the late 16th century were discovered on the long walls of the ship.

Stjørdal Church is a modernist church that was consecrated on 30 August 2015. The architect of the church is Kai Rune Bakke. The back wall was decorated by Edith Lundebrekke, the altar material (ceramic) is by Beathe Lund Kristiansen and the liturgical furniture is designed by Terje Hope.

In 1995, the city council o Stockholm decided to convert an old power station into a mosque, and the mosque was completed in 2000. This particular building was chosen because of its art-nouveau architecture which included several "moorish" elements and already faced towards Mecca. The mosque was financed by several individuals and goups, most notably Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the former leader of the UAE.

Stokka Church is a "working church" with a fan-shaped plan dating from 1974. The church was originally designed by Byarkitekten Stavanger. In the years 2001-2002, the church underwent a total renovation by the architect Laila Løhre and an artistic decoration by Per Odd Aarrestad.
