This is one of the oldest churches in the province. The visible Romanesque features are in the tower: niches of different sizes. Little is visible in the vessel, among other things, due to the large arched windows and plastering.

Zuurdijk Church

It is believed that the church of Zuurdijk dates back to at least 1287, but building traces that have been found suggest that the church could be about fifty years older. In 1849 the hall church was thoroughly renovated, and much of the medieval character was lost. Originally there were brick vaults, of which arch forms are still recognizable in the wall.

Church center. Modern church without tower. Built as Dutch Reformed Church. The center has been renovated and remodeled to better fit the current era. The large facade with colored glass is striking. New carpeting has been installed and the pews have been upholstered. The church now has 800 seats and can be expanded to 1000 seats by adding the back room to the church. The church was reopened on Saturday, November 8, 2014.
