Originally, the Lunner church was a long stone church with a nave and choir of equal width, and with a round bell tower to the west. However, in the 18th century, the tower and the west wall were demolished and three transverse arms made of turned wood were built. The medieval church is the choir of the present church. The priestly sacristy and the baptismal sacristy were added in the 1930s.
