About this building

The church was built in the 13th century and is one of the oldest and most unaltered churches on the island of Gotland. Its Romanesque architectural style gives a good idea of the appearance of the churches of this period.

Anga Church preserves many medieval wall paintings. The Museum of Gotland in Visby displays many of the sculptures that once decorated the church.
