A very humble building, built from Roman stone, and includes a reused Roman arch. Pevsner describes the church as being Norman, with some Saxon elements, constructed from Roman masonry removed from the nearby fort at Birdoswald. It can probably claim to be the oldest standing building in Cumbria.

Oviedo Cathedral is a Gothic-style cathedral built at the request of the King of Asturias, Fruela I (757-768). In the 11th century, the cathedral was rebuilt in the Romanesque style. In the 13th century, a new renovation led to the present cathedral. The work began with the chapter house and then the cloister. The church was started at the end of the 14th century; in the 16th century, the portico and the tower of the façade were completed. In the following centuries, works and embellishments were carried out on the chapels.

The Paaskerk is a church in the Augustinuspark in Amstelveen , designed by JB baron van Asbeck , who was inspired by the chapel in Ronchamp by Le Corbusier . It is a multi-storey church with the church hall above. Above that is the shell roof with the shape of a hyperbolic paraboloid . There is no bell tower, but the church does have a carillon next to the entrance in the north facade.

Saint Liborius Cathedral in Paderborn was founded in the 8th century, but the present building dates mainly from the 13th century. In the crypt, one of the largest in Germany, the relics of St Liborius are kept. The church was restored with Baroque additions after the Thirty Years' War, during the reign of Prince-Bishop Dietrich Adolf, and also had to be rebuilt after the bombings of the Second World War. These later additions and reconstructions did not fundamentally alter the overall appearance of the building. The church is recognisable by its large Romanesque tower from the 13th century.

Padua Cathedral was reportedly founded in the 4th century by the Edict of Milan (313), but the current building dates from the 16th century. The cathedral, made in a basilica in the 18th century, houses the tombs of Saint Daniel, Saint Leonino and Saint Gregory Barbarigo.

The Painted Mosque of Tetovo is an Ottoman mosque built in 1438, and unlike most mosques of that time, it was not financed by a local dignitary, but by two sisters of Tetovo, whose graves are in the Türbe (tomb) in the adjoining garden. It was rebuilt in 1833 by Abdurrahman Pasha. The monument owes its name to the countless painted panels that cover the facades. The panels were completely restored between 2010 and 2011.

The church of Paistu Maarja was first mentioned in historical sources in 1329 when it was looted by Lithuanians. It is believed that this stone church was built at the end of the 13th century. In the years 1862-1866, a neo-gothic tower was built at the western end of the church, and at the same time, the interior of the church also took on a neo-gothic appearance. In January 2005, the roof of the church was severely damaged by storms, and a new tin roof was completed in the autumn of the same year.

The Pakruojis wooden synagogue was built in 1801, making it the oldest wooden synagogue in Lithuania and Poland, where they were once numerous. In 1895, metal bars were affixed to the synagogue to prevent the church from collapsing. The church in now used as a library.
