The Østre Gausdal church is a medieval stone church that has undergone many modifications over the centuries. In 1715 the choir was demolished and the church was extended eastwards. The present sacristy was built and the church was provided with additional doors and windows. The west door was enlarged and the roof and tower were restored. In 1869, the church was given a new porch on the west side. The interior was also restored many times. In the 1860s, most of the interior of the church was repainted. In 1952, the interior of the church was whitewashed and given new windows and pews. Parts of the galleries were removed.

Østre Halsen Church is a "working church" built in two stages with consecration in 1983 and 1993. A house of prayer was built on Østre Halsen in 1878, and it was consecrated as a temporary church in 1899.

The Østre Porsgrunn Church was designed in 2015 by professor-architect Espen Surnevik as chief architect, and Trodahl architects as collaborating architect. The building is often referred to as the "porcelain church", as it was to be clad on the outside with porcelain-like tiles. The new church building was completed in autumn 2019 and was consecrated on 15 September 2019. The modernist church replaces a 1760 church, designed by Laurids de Thurah, which was burnt down to the ground on the night of 11 April 2011.

The Øverbygd church is a wooden church dating from 1867, the work of the architect Jacob Wilhelm Nordan. The interior of the church was restored in 1967 and 1972. Among other things, the wooden walls were insulated and panelled to make the church warmer. Recently, the inhabitants have tried to bring the church's furniture back to its original style.
