The construction of the provost church of St. Peter and Andre began shortly after the foundation of Brilon, between 1220 and 1250. The three-bay late Romanesque hall church has a transept and a two-bay right choir, both built in the 14th century. The powerful early Gothic west tower was erected after the completion of the nave. Much of the interior was renovated between 1770 and 1776. The last major renovation of the exterior and roof took place between 1967 and 1970 under the direction of the architect H. Stiegemann.

The Propsteikirche St. Johannes Baptist is the only Catholic church in the old city wall of Dortmund. It was built in the 14th century as an abbey of a Dominican monastery.

Herv. Church. In 1692 rebuilt church building in Gothic style completely vaulted and also with a basement. The tower of the 13th century church was preserved with a zone of niches on the south side and traces of them on the east side. On the north side of the church an extension was built that is just as large as the tower, containing the burial vault of the founder family Piccardt-Rengers and the church room, above which another room. On the west side access stairs to the church and side stairs to a gallery against the west facade. Above the entrance gate large coat of arms stone Rengers-Piccardt and date 1694; above that large relief stone with adoration of the Lamb of God. In the tower the coat of arms of the city of Groningen; on the western and northern gable ornamental vases. In the church richly carved pulpit with sounding board and accessible via stairs in the wall thickness. All pews with carved knobs and crowns on the doors; adjoining baptismal gate, Gentlemen's bench in the north extension. Organ above the passage to the north extension in case with coats of arms Piccardt Rengers, built in 1695 by Arp Schnitger. Much of the instrument has been lost. Stained glass windows in the north extension. In the choir sculpted stone representing the Mannaregen. Mechanical tower clock, Jos van de Kerkhof, Aarle-Rixtel.

In 1959 restored single-nave church building with five-sided closure. The nave has been extended on the west side, but otherwise dates from the 13th century. In the church pulpit with carved tub, coat rack board and canopy, all 1721; associated baptismal fence with openwork panels. Gentlemen's pew with attachment in which coat of arms of Swinderen and carved corner pieces and crownings of the doors and side panels. Three sixteenth-century tombstones and three seventeenth-century.

The Protestant Church in Helenaveen is a simple hall-shaped church building that shows elements of the Waterstaat style in its architecture. The building dates from 1867 and has survived the years virtually unchanged. In 1883, a large memorial stone was built into the front facade, on the occasion of the death of the preacher Swalue.

Reformed church, three-sided closed hall church, 1661-1663, with open bell tower on the roof, a simply decorated gable at the front and a baroque entrance frame. In the belfry two bells made by A. Juliën from Liège, cast in 1695 with diameters respectively 63.8 and 55.4 cm. The inventory includes: pulpit, three offering blocks, chandelier, XVII. Organ with two manuals and pedal from 1950 by H. Spanjaard (Amsterdam). It replaced an organ from 1708.

The Protestant Church in Ludwigsburg was built between 1718 and 1726 by the master builder Donato Giuseppe Frisoni as a Baroque church. The interior of the hall church shows the simple aspect of the 1960 renovation.
