De Fontein

Eindhoven, NL

Evangelical Church De Lichtstad, this building replaces the previous wooden temporary building on the Heezerweg. The Evangelical Church De Lichtstad has two buildings. One is "De Akker" on the Smetsakker 47, in the northern district of Woensel. The other was the former Dutch Reformed Church Tivoli Church on the Heezerweg 466, a wooden temporary building. This last building was in poor condition, and a new church, De Fontein, was built on the Wegedoornlaan 29. The church was already put into use in May 2005. The church still had to be finished and furnished. On Saturday, October 15, 2005, this church building De Fontein was officially put into use.

De Goede Herder

Amsterdam, NL

New Roman Catholic parish in Buitenveldert, founded in 1961. The church building was consecrated on October 26, 1968.

De Goede Herder

Ede, NL

Newly established Roman Catholic parish and church in the west of Ede. Consecrated on 2 November 1958. Hall church on a trapezoidal plan, with a tower to the left of the slightly convex front facade. Important (still existing) work in the oeuvre of the BJ & HM Koldewey office, in a modernist and functionalist style, striking because of the pronounced austerity and the bright incidence of light. In the spring of 2012 it was announced that this church would be withdrawn from Roman Catholic worship as of 1 January 2013. The other Roman Catholic church in Ede, St. Antonius van Padua, will remain in use. Last Roman Catholic celebration in this church on Palm Sunday, 24 March 2013.

De Goede Herder

Dinxperlo, NL

Important modern church with tower. During the Reformation, the Dinxperlo Catholics had a church (facility) in nearby Suderwick, Germany. From the nineteenth century onwards, they attended church in Breedenbroek (HH Petrus en Paulus). It was not until 1964 that Dinxperlo became an independent parish again. The new church, designed by HA Knoop, is a central building on a pentagonal plan, with a tent roof and a freestanding bell tower. As a whole, it is typical of the austerity in Roman Catholic church construction from the 1960s onwards, according to the guidelines of the Second Vatican Council, in a businesslike and functionalist style.
