De Bining

Haulerwijk, NL

In the spring of 2003, the Dutch Reformed Church celebrated the 150th anniversary of the church. The foundation stone was laid on 30 April 1852 and the church was put into use on 9 January 1853. The tower was added in 1867. At the end of the 19th century, a German harmonium by organ builder Schiedmaijer from Stuttgart was installed. As early as 1903, this was replaced by a French Serafine organ (i.e. a pressure wind harmonium). In 1915, an organ followed, which was partly replaced in 1965. A commemorative booklet was published for this anniversary. (50-03)
