Gereformeerde Gemeente
Rilland-Bath, NL
After the Secession of 1834, there were also people in Rilland who no longer wished to remain members of the Dutch Reformed Church. They then held meetings in various places. Around 1865, the congregation in Rilland was instituted. After meeting in homes and farms for many years, the congregation acquired its own building in 1875. It was a former school building on the corner of Adriaan Butijnweg and Valckenisseweg. After the congregation grew and no expansion was possible, a piece of land was purchased in 1889 at Zandbaan (the current Swaanhilstraat) to build a new church building there. In 1928, the church building was expanded with a consistory room. In 1952, a gallery was added to the church building. In 1957, the front facade of the church building was renovated. In 1965, new pews were installed in the church building, while in 1969 the pulpit and lectern were renovated.
