In The Hague-Southwest. Modern church. with small tower.

On Monday 29 August 2005, the first pile was driven behind the De Poort building for the new building of the Vrije Baptistengemeente Nehemia. De Poort is a former family replacement home De Rietborg and was purchased by the Vrije Baptisten in 1997 as a club building. The church services were held in the auditorium of the Dockinga College. This church hall was put into use on 3 September 2006. Nehemia is a daughter church of the Vrije Baptistengemeente Bethel in Drachten. (54-05/57-07)

Gemert Monastery Castle, founded by the Teutonic Order, has a rich religious heritage dating back to the 12th century. Over time, it served various religious orders, including the Jesuits and the Spiritans, who resided there until the 20th century.

The small Agios Georgios chapel in Genagra dates from the 15th century and is located just outside the village centre to the west. The building was restored in 2021-22.

The Panagia Church, located in the northern area of the original centre, was built in the early 1950s.

Geneva Cathedral, or Saint-Pierre Cathedral, was founded in 1160 in the Romanesque style, on a former 4th-century cathedral. In 1535, with the Reformation, the statues and furniture of the cathedral were destroyed. The cathedral then became Protestant. Subsequently, John Calvin (1509-1564) worked for 23 years as a preacher in the reformed cathedral. The cathedral was built in the Gothic style at the end of the 17th century and was enlarged in the 18th century with a columned portico in the classical style in front of the main façade.

The mosque in Geneva, inaugurated in 1978, is the largest mosque in French-speaking Switzerland and one of the four Swiss mosques to have a 22-metre high minaret. The building includes a conference room, a library, a school and a mortuary for the ritual purification of funerals.

Built on a former basilica site, the Cathedral of San Lorenzo was erected around 1098. Partly reworked until the seventeenth century, the church displays many styles ranging from Gothic to Mannerism.

The church was first mentioned in the 11th century. Before that, there must have been a wooden building. The tower is 11th century, the nave Gothic (ca. 1400) and the choir 100 years younger. The church became famous for its tapestries, which were knotted by the Drempt neighbourhoods in the sixties to improve the acoustics. The church, dedicated to Agios Georgios, is located in the centre of the original settlement area. It was built in 1950. After 1974, the church was converted into a mosque and used as such until around 2016. At that time, a new mosque had been built in the village. The church building has been left to its own devices since then.
