Bergschenhoek, NL
Modern building from 2003 with church hall and circular outbuildings. Organ with two manuals and free pedal from 1842-1873, originating from England, restored in 1991 by FR Feenstra. The Reformed Church Liberated at Julianalaan 132, built in 1981, became too small and was decommissioned in 2002. Early 2002, the first pile was driven for a new church, Het Baken. This was built at Anthonie van Dijcklaan 1 and was officially put into use on 31 January 2003. The organ comes from the closed Reformed Church of Wirdum in Friesland.

The Baptist community of Southwest Friesland drove the first pile for a new church building last week. The community, which is affiliated with the Union of Baptist Churches, has grown from around 70 to 120 baptized members in the past ten years. In addition, the community has around fifty children and young people and an equal number of people who are registered as friends of the community. The new church will have a hall with around 250 seats. The community hopes to be able to move into the new building this year.

The church dates from 1958. In 2004, a new organ was put into use. It was built by Bernhardt Edskes Orgelbau in Switzerland (Edskes is from Groningen). It is the first Edskes organ in our country. The organ replaced an organ from 1960, which was moved to the Dutch Reformed Church of Peace in Vlaardingen. That organ was built by Van den Berg & Wendt. Flentrop Kerkorgelbouw installed the organ in Vlaardingen, where it was officially put into use on June 12, 2002.
