The chapel occasionally houses the famous Viennese Court Music Orchestra.

Hoff Church

Hoff Church

Østre Toten, NO

The Hoff church is a Romanesque brick church dedicated to the apostle Andrew. It was built of local cut sandstone, probably at the end of the 12th century. Originally, the church was in the form of a basilica with two longitudinal rows of columns that divided the church hall into three naves, the middle one having a higher ceiling than the naves. The tower, which rose above the centre of the roof, had as its foundations the choir wall and the first pair of pillars. The church burned down around 1500 and 1700. After the last fire, the church was heavily rebuilt and took the shape it has today.

This movement within the Dutch Reformed Church joined the merger into the Protestant Church in the Netherlands in 2004. In Doetinchem, this group is fully part of the Protestant community. Here, it has the status of a district community: the Hofkerk community.

The entire door is covered with large nails on the outside as protection against the axes of possible intruders. In 1966, the tower was renovated. In the church there is a beautiful pew (17th and 18th century) with a coat of arms supported by two unicorns on the canopy.
