The Abbey of the Holy Trinity of Cava de' Tirreni is a Benedictine abbey founded in the 11th century and raised to the status of a territorial abbey in 1394, thus having the status of an abbey cathedral. The founder of Cava Abbey was Saint Alferius, a nobleman from Salerno who was trained at the Abbey of Cluny. In 1011 he retired to the great Arsiccia Cave to spend a hermit's life, which attracted many followers in order to build a small monastery, the original nucleus of today's abbey.

Lacock Abbey is packed with history. It started as an abbey and nunnery, then became a Tudor family home. The last owners were the Talbots, a caring close knit family that loved their home in Lacock. In the 19th century it was home to William Henry Fox Talbot. In 1835 he made what may be the earliest surviving photographic camera negative, an image of one of the windows.

The church of Lade is a medieval church dating from 1189. The church is relatively well preserved, but the south wall was rebuilt in the 1600s, and then the south portal disappeared. The ship's entrance portal to the west is made of pebbles. The portal has a Gothic appearance, with free-standing columns and pillars, or capitals, decorated with foliage. The design is associated with the first half of the 13th century.
