Vöyri Wooden Church

The Vöyri Wooden Church is the oldest wooden church in use in Vöyri in. The church was completed in 1626 and extended in 1777. The crucifix is the most famous work of art in the church. It was carved by an unknown artist, probably in Lübeck, around 1375-1400.

The monastery of Vraćevšnica was built before 1428, and the frescoes were completed in 1431. The founder of the monastery was Radič Postupović, a Serbian nobleman who lived during the reign of the despot Stefan Lazarević (1402-1427). After the Turkish conquest of the territory in the middle of the 15th century, the monastery was damaged and abandoned. After the renewal of the Serbian Patriarchate Peć, the monastery was renovated around 1579. In 1737, under Austrian rule, the monastery was renovated again.

The present church of Vrådal, built in 1887, is the third church of the village. The two previous churches were about 4 kilometres further east, where the old cemetery can still be seen. The first church, a stave church, was replaced by an octagonal wooden church in 1685 (consecrated in 1686). It is said to be the first octagonal church in the country, but it was demolished in 1888 after the new church was used.

Vranjaš Monastery lies on the slopes of the Fruska Gora mountains, near the village of Manđelos. A church dedicated to St Basil of Ostrog was built in 2014 with Norwegian white pine. The interior is lavishly decorated with iconostasis painted by painted by Borislav and Marija Živković.

Vranje Cathedral dates back to the end of the 17th century. It was built with the help of Pasha Hussein of Vranje. The church was rebuilt in 1858-1860 under the direction of the builder Andreja Damjanov. The church community entrusted the painting part of the iconostasis works to Dimitar Krstević-Dič, then the most famous and talented icon painter of Vardar Macedonia.

Vrdnik-Ravanica is a historic monastery on the slopes of the Fruska Gora Mountains near the Vrdnik thermal springs. It is one of the 16 surviving Orthodox monasteries built between the 15th and 18th centuries on the Fruška Gora mountain in Serbia (also known as the Serbian Mount Athos).

s-Gravenhage, NL

The Reformed Church Council of The Hague-Loosduinen opened this church building on 31 August 1956 on the Maartensdijklaan. The building, which included a church hall with gallery, had 750 seats and several additional rooms. Total construction costs Hfl. 290,000.- excluding costs of land and interior. Builder Firma S.
